Christopher Murray is a Professor in the Counseling Psychology & Human Services department at the University of Oregon's College of Education. He serves as Director of the Center on Human Development, focusing on improving services for individuals with disabilities through research and community engagement. Prior to joining UO, he worked at DePaul University for eight years and gained practical experience as a special education teacher and counselor for homeless youth.

His research centers on teacher-student relationships, adolescent-to-adult transitions for individuals with disabilities, and social-emotional skill development. Recent publications examine cooperative learning models, social support mechanisms, and psychometric evaluations of assessment tools.
Key awards include the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association Annual Research Award (2014), National Rehabilitation Association Editor’s Choice Award (2014), and the University of Oregon Fund for Faculty Excellence Award (2015). His work spans collaborations with Chicago public schools under the Corey H. settlement agreement and ongoing projects like the OSERS-funded Pathways to Competitive Integrated Employment in Oregon.
