He teaches a wide range of courses, from introductory philosophy to advanced seminars on Aristotle and metaphysics.
Dr. Mirus’s work rethinks Thomistic metaphysics through a lens that prioritizes concrete human experience and relational ontology. His publications include a 2022 monograph on Aristotle’s metaphysics of goodness and beauty, as well as articles exploring Aristotle’s categories, teleology, and the interplay between science and philosophy. His academic career includes prior teaching positions at Notre Dame, Hunter College, and the University at Albany.
His advising and grants focus on fostering interdisciplinary dialogue between philosophy and the sciences, though specific grant details are not provided. His scholarly contributions bridge ancient and medieval thought, particularly through the lens of Aristotle and St. Thomas Aquinas, aiming to reinvigorate metaphysical discourse with contemporary relevance.
