Christopher Medlin is a Professor at the Adelaide Business School within the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Economics at the University of Adelaide. His academic career spans over two decades with significant contributions to business-to-business marketing research, focusing on business relationships, network dynamics, and industrial transitions through the lens of interorganizational theory.
Professor Medlin's research interests encompass business marketing, organizational theory, and network dynamics within the Industrial Marketing and Purchasing (IMP) Group tradition. He examines how business relationships and networks evolve and influence industrial sectors, with recent work applying Temporal Constructivist and Radical Constructivist Approaches to Business and Industrial Networks. Currently, he pursues research in a 'slow research' mode that prioritizes depth and quality of understanding over rapid publication cycles, emphasizing the critical importance of the inter-organizational sector where entities negotiate, develop innovations, and coordinate economic processes.
