Dr. Christopher Madrid is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Texas Tech University. He holds a PhD in Physics from Baylor University (2020), an MA in Physics (2017), and dual BS degrees in Physics and Mathematics from Angelo State University (2015).
His research focuses on experimental particle physics through the CMS collaboration at CERN's Large Hadron Collider. He investigates beyond-Standard-Model physics, develops next-generation particle detectors (including HGCAL upgrades), and applies machine learning to particle collision analysis.
Recent publications focus on novel detector technologies and machine learning applications in particle identification. Research demonstrates emphasis on instrumentation innovation for future colliders.
Dr. Madrid leads the Advanced Particle Detector Laboratory, focusing on detector R&D integrating precision timing and advanced readout electronics.
