Mitchell Wayne is a Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Notre Dame. His research centers on proton-proton collisions at the CMS detector at CERN's Large Hadron Collider, including Higgs boson studies and searches beyond the Standard Model.
Honors include American Physical Society Fellowship and multiple teaching awards. His detector R&D focuses on fiber tracking, calorimetry, and Silicon Photomultipliers for CMS upgrades.
