Christopher Lathan, MD, MS, MPH serves as the Chief Clinical Access Officer and the inaugural Christopher and Constance Hadley Family Chair at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He is also Associate Chief Medical Officer, Medical Director of Dana-Farber's Regional Campuses, and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Lathan founded and directs Dana-Farber's Cancer Care Access Program (CCAP), established in 2010, which includes an outreach clinic serving Federally Qualified Health Centers and a community-focused navigation program for newly diagnosed cancer patients.
His educational background includes medical school at Tufts University School of Medicine, Internal Medicine residency at Boston Medical Center (where he served as Chief Medical Resident in 2002), and Medical Oncology fellowship at Dana-Farber/Partners CancerCare (completed in 2005). He has received the Dana-Farber Collaborative Leadership Award (2012) and the Harvard Medical School Harold Amos Faculty Diversity Award (2015).
Dr. Lathan's research focuses on addressing systemic barriers in cancer care, with particular emphasis on racial and socioeconomic disparities in lung cancer treatment, access to precision medicine, and equitable distribution of new treatments across vulnerable populations. His work bridges the gap between cancer therapeutics research and clinical care realities through patient-focused interventions integrated within healthcare delivery systems.
His extensive publication record demonstrates consistent focus on health equity, with recent work examining clinical trial diversity, community outreach models, innovative care delivery for vulnerable populations, and sociodemographic factors affecting treatment uptake. His research portfolio converges on improving system-wide efforts to broaden access to cancer care for historically marginalized groups.

As an active clinical medical oncologist, Dr. Lathan treats lung cancer patients in both academic and community settings. His Cancer Care Equity Program aims to bridge research efforts in disparities with patient care realities through community-engaged interventions designed to increase access to high-quality cancer care.
