Christopher Kondrich is a poet, writer, editor, and educator currently serving as the Visiting Poet-in-Residence in the M.F.A. Program in Creative Writing at the University of Maryland. Previously, he taught as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the College of the Holy Cross, Writer-in-Residence at SUNY New Paltz, and held roles at George Washington University and Bard College. He is also a faculty member for Eastern Oregon University’s low-residency M.F.A. in Creative and Environmental Writing.
His research and creative work intersect with Creative Writing, Poetry, and Environmental Writing, particularly in bridging literary practices with Animal Conservation and Science Communication. As co-editor of Creature Needs: Writers Respond to the Science of Animal Conservation, he explores interdisciplinary connections between literature and ecological themes.
