Christopher Godfrey

Christopher Godfrey is a Professor and Chair of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of North Carolina Asheville. His research focuses on tornado dynamics including debris propagation, treefall patterns, and terrain interactions, with additional expertise in meteorological instrumentation, transportation weather systems, and societal impacts of weather events. He maintains the university's research weather station on Lookout Mountain.

Dr. Godfrey's work integrates atmospheric measurements with numerical modeling to study severe weather phenomena. His research spans atmospheric optics, climatological data analysis, and unmanned aircraft applications in meteorology.
