Dr Christopher Coles is a Senior Teaching Scholar in the Division of Accounting & Finance within the School of Management at the University of Stirling. He represents the division on the School of Management's Learning and Teaching Committee and serves as Chair of the Divisional Student-Staff Consultative Committee.
Dr Coles is an accountant by profession who qualified with ACCA and CIOT while working at KPMG as a tax consultant. Before joining Stirling, he taught at the University of Glasgow where he was responsible for taught postgraduate programmes in accounting and finance. His teaching portfolio includes financial accounting, management accounting, and financial management courses.
His research interests focus primarily on accounting education, particularly in two key areas: widening access to the accounting profession and enhancing student learning. He is also exploring issues of obfuscation in corporate narrative reports. Dr Coles holds a Masters degree in Education and a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education, both from the University of Dundee, and is currently working towards a Doctorate in Education.

Dr Coles serves on the ACCA's Tayside and North Fife members' panel and is a member of QAA Scotland's Working Group on the Postgraduate Student Experience.
