Christopher Clark is the Sorby Chair of Geoscience at the University of Sheffield, UK, holding this position since 2009. He has been a Professor at the university since 2004, transitioning through academic ranks from Lecturer (1990) to Senior Lecturer (1998), Reader (2002), and then Professor. His research focuses on glacial geomorphology, glaciology, Quaternary science, remote sensing, and GIS, with a particular emphasis on reconstructing ancient ice sheets and understanding glacial systems.

He has secured major research grants including a €2.4 million ERC Advanced Grant (2018-2024) and a £3.7 million NERC consortium grant (2012-2018) for BRITICE-CHRONO studies.
His scientific achievements are complemented by extensive fieldwork across Arctic Canada, Svalbard, Greenland, and other regions. Clark is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and a member of multiple scientific societies including the European Geophysical Union and International Glaciological Society.
