Christopher Chute is the Bloomberg Distinguished Professor of Health Informatics and Professor of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing at Johns Hopkins University. He serves as Chief Research Information Officer for Johns Hopkins Medicine and is actively involved in the Johns Hopkins Institute for Clinical and Translational Research. His work focuses on harmonizing observational and protocol-based biomedical data to advance data science and knowledge discovery.

Dr. Chute's research spans biomedical informatics, ontology, medical concept representation, and real-world data. His recent work includes applying electronic health records to study post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection and childhood obesity trends post-COVID-19 diagnosis.
His 476+ peer-reviewed publications demonstrate expertise in data harmonization, clinical phenotyping, and privacy-preserving record linkage. Key trends include leveraging EHR systems for comparative effectiveness studies, genomic research, and infectious disease modeling.
