Christopher Callahan

Christopher Callahan serves as the 26th president of University of the Pacific, California's first university, beginning his tenure on July 1, 2020. As chief executive of a university ranked among the nation's top 100 and No. 19 in the West, he oversees three campuses in Stockton, Sacramento, and San Francisco.

President Callahan's areas of focus include diversity, equity and inclusion; community impact; and sustainability. He has established ambitious goals for Pacific to become the best student-centered comprehensive university in the nation within a decade, building on pillars of personalized learning, expanded real-life learning opportunities coupled with community service, accelerated innovation, and DEI excellence.

His leadership has been particularly notable during the challenging transition from pandemic restrictions, where he focused on maintaining community connections through robust virtual programming while advancing strategic initiatives for the university's future growth and impact.

President Callahan actively engages with the Pacific community through regular messages, campus visits, athletic events, and cultural activities. His administration has overseen record enrollment growth, new program development, and significant campus improvements including new facilities for veteran students and sports programs.
