Christopher Burke is an Adjunct Professor of Law and currently serves as a United States Magistrate Judge for the District of Delaware, a position he has held since August 4, 2011. He is affiliated with the University of Michigan School of Law as an alumnus and adjunct faculty member, contributing his extensive judicial and legal expertise to legal education.
His educational background includes a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School (2000) and a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University (1997).
His professional focus lies in federal litigation, particularly patent cases, criminal re-entry programs, and legal process reform. He has played a key role in legal education through the Federal Trial Practice Seminar and youth outreach via the High School Summer Fellowship Program. His work bridges judicial service with civic and educational engagement.
Judge Burke has been instrumental in developing trial advocacy skills among legal professionals and expanding access to justice through oversight of the Federal Civil Panel for indigent parties. He also presides over the District Court’s criminal Re-entry Court, supporting individuals on federal supervised release.
