Christopher Bohan is a full-time Instructor in the Department of Theater at Case Western Reserve University, where he has taught acting and improvisation to undergraduates and MFA candidates since 2012. He also serves as co-director of undergraduate recruitment and regularly directs departmental productions.
Education:
- BA in Theatre & Economics – Lehigh University (1994)
- MFA in Performance – The Hilberry Theatre, Wayne State University (2007)
Research & creative interests center on the fusion of improvisational theatre practice with mental-health interventions. He currently co-leads Project DRAMA, an interdisciplinary study with CWRU’s Department of Psychology that explores improvisation as a tool for cognitive-behavioral therapy, supported by the university’s Expanding Horizons initiative and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Outside the university Bohan maintains an active professional acting career, appearing in regional theatre (Cleveland Play House), independent film, and television. He is a lead teacher and board member of the Great Lakes Michael Chekhov Consortium, offering certified training in the Michael Chekhov acting technique, and is a longstanding member of both Actor’s Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA.
