Christopher A. Moskaluk

Dr. Christopher A. Moskaluk is the Walter Reed Professor and Chair of Pathology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, with a joint appointment as Professor of Biochemistry & Molecular Genetics. His career spans clinical pathology, molecular cancer research, and educational leadership.

• Education: MD and PhD from Duke University (1982–1990), residency at the National Cancer Institute (1990–1993), and fellowship at Johns Hopkins (1993–1995).
• Research Focus: Molecular genetic mechanisms in human cancers, particularly precursor lesions of malignant tumors, and the development of standardized immunohistochemistry protocols.

His recent work includes proteogenomic analysis of lung adenocarcinoma, genomic features of adult T-cell leukemia-lymphoma, and sarcoma subtyping via multi-omics. Earlier studies highlight ECOP gene dysregulation in squamous carcinomas, Cdx2 as a gastrointestinal marker, and tumor banking ethics.
