Christophe Roche holds multiple academic roles: ERA Chair Professor in AI for SSH at the University of Crete (Greece), Emeritus Professor at University Savoie Mont-Blanc (France), Special Appointment Professor at the University of Liaocheng (China), and Researcher & Lecturer at University Nova of Lisbon (Portugal). He leads the Condillac Research Group on 'Terminology & Ontology' and serves as Dean of the KETRC Research Center at the University of Liaocheng, focusing on 'Knowledge Engineering and Terminology'.
- Education: PhD in Artificial Intelligence (INPG Grenoble, 1984)
His research interests span Artificial Intelligence, Linguistics, Digital Humanities, Knowledge Representation, Terminology, Ontology, and Ontoterminology. He chairs the TOTh Conferences and led the ISO Standard on Terminology (ISO 1087:2019). Previously, he chaired the AFNOR Commission on Terminology (2014–2023).
- Awards: 2021 National Talent (China), 2018 Qilu Friendship Award, 2017 Talent Foreign Expert (both Shandong Province).
He oversees the Condillac Research Group and KETRC, contributing to terminology coordination and standardization initiatives globally.
