Christophe Dujardin is a Professor at the University of Lille, affiliated with the School of Chemistry (École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Lille) and the Unité de Catalyse et Chimie du Solide (UCCS), a CNRS research unit (UMR 8181). He leads research within the Heterogeneous Catalysis Department, specifically in the Remediation and Catalytic Materials (REMCAT) team. Dr. Dujardin was born in 1975 and completed his Master's degree in Material Sciences from the University of Caen in 1998. He received his PhD in theoretical, physical and analytical chemistry from the University of Caen in 2002 under the supervision of Research Director Françoise Maugé, with collaboration from Dr. Jacob Van Gestel and Professor Jean-Claude Duchet. His doctoral research focused on characterizing hydrotreating catalysts through model reactions and infrared spectroscopy.
Dr. Dujardin's research primarily addresses the removal of nitrogen oxides (NOx) from both stationary and mobile sources using heterogeneous catalysts. His work emphasizes the evaluation of new catalyst formulations operating in lean-burn conditions, establishing correlations between the physicochemical properties of catalytic surfaces and their performance metrics (particularly activity and selectivity in converting NO to N2), and understanding catalyst behavior during reactions using advanced spectroscopic techniques like FTIR and XPS.
