Christoph Zielhofer is a full Professor of Physical Geography at the Institute of Geography, affiliated with the Faculty of Physics and Earth System Sciences at Leipzig University. As Coordinator of DFG Priority Programme SPP 2361 'On the Way to the Fluvial Anthroposphere' since 2021, he leads interdisciplinary research on human-environment interactions in floodplains. His academic career includes leadership roles as Director of the Institute of Geography (2013–2020) and Study Dean (2019–2021), with current membership in the Faculty Board since 2010.
