Christoph Henkel is a Professor of Law at Drake University's Drake Law School since 2023. His expertise spans Contract Law, Corporate Law, Fintech, and Bankruptcy Law. Previously, he served as a Professor at Mississippi College School of Law (2009–2022), Visiting Professor at Chicago-Kent College of Law and University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, and held arbitration roles with the European Commission and FINRA.
He holds an SJD and LLM from the University of Wisconsin Law School, and a JD from Justus-Liebig University Law School (Germany). His research focuses on cross-border bankruptcy, AI's impact on legal practice, and fintech regulation. He was honored as the Richard M. and Anita Calkins Distinguished Professor of Law in 2025.
His publications address topics such as cannabis industry banking, AI in insolvency processes, and comparative bankruptcy frameworks. His work bridges legal theory and practical regulation in transnational contexts.
