معرفی
Dr. Christoph Gross is a Postdoc Researcher in Planetology and Remote Sensing at the Institute of Geological Sciences, Department of Earth Sciences, Free University of Berlin. His research focuses on Mars geology, surface processes, and remote sensing, with particular expertise in analyzing planetary surface features using data from spacecraft missions including Mars Express and Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.
His research interests include:
- Planetary surface processes and geomorphology
- Mars mineralogy and geochemistry
- Water history and aqueous alteration on Mars
- In-situ resource utilization for future Mars missions
- Remote sensing data analysis and interpretation
- Virtual reality applications for planetary science
Dr. Gross's recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on Mars surface processes, with particular attention to Jezero Crater (the Perseverance rover landing site), Mawrth Vallis (a candidate landing site for future missions), and the geochemical history revealed by mineral deposits. His work spans multiple disciplines including planetary geology, mineralogy, hydrology, and space exploration technology, with an increasing emphasis on applications for future human missions to Mars.
Dr. Gross has been actively involved in teaching courses on Planetary Surface Processes and Morphology for the Master's program at Free University of Berlin, demonstrating his commitment to education and training the next generation of planetary scientists.
