Christine Varney is a Lecturer in Law and Adjunct Faculty member at Columbia Law School. She is also a partner at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, where she chairs the antitrust practice. Varney has served as U.S. Assistant Attorney General for Antitrust and Commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission, making her the only person to hold both roles.
Her research and professional work focus on antitrust law, corporate compliance, and regulatory affairs, advising clients in industries such as technology, pharmaceuticals, and financial services. She has secured antitrust approvals globally and handled high-profile investigations.
