Prof. Dr. Christine Tamásy is a Professor of Human Geography at the University of Greifswald since 2017, focusing on rural geography, agrarian intensive areas, and entrepreneurship in spatial contexts. She previously held a W3 University Professorship for Regional Development at the University of Vechta (2009-2017) and was a Heisenberg Fellow at the University of Auckland (2004-2009). Her research spans Germany, the Baltic Sea region, and Australasia.

Her research integrates new agrarian geography, regional entrepreneurship, and sustainability transitions in agri-food systems. She explores policy mobility, institutional interplay, and circular economy pathways, particularly in intensive agricultural zones.
Recent publications address bioeconomic transitions, blue economy strategies, circular agri-food economies, and agri-food waste valorization in the Baltic Sea region and Germany. Her work bridges empirical analysis with theoretical frameworks for regional resilience.
