Christine Reed, Ph.D., is a Professor at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) School of Public Administration. She has held interim roles such as Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Associate Vice Chancellor for Research and Dean of Graduate Studies. Her academic background includes a Ph.D. from Brown University in 1983, followed by professional experiences at the Bureau of Government Research, National Community Development Assoc., and the U.S. Department of HUD.
Dr. Reed’s teaching expertise spans Public and Administrative Law, Urban Sustainability, and Race and Ethnicity. Her research focuses on environmental ethics, public management of wild horses, collaborative environmental governance, and common pool resources. Notable works include her 2015 book on the Pryor Mountain Mustang and grant-funded projects on the Platte River Recovery Program.
She currently serves as Interim Director of the UNO Center for Urban Sustainability and chairs the UNO Sustainability Committee. Dr. Reed collaborates with the UNL-based Resilience Working Group on NSF funding applications and systems science initiatives.
Professional activities include editorial board memberships for Public Administration Review and Administrative Theory & Praxis, and leadership roles in ASPA sections. She directed the Nebraska Municipal Clerks Institute and Master Academy from 2007 to 2012.
