Christine Palmer

Dr. Christine Palmer is Lecturer in Nursing and Clinical Program Coordinator for the Southern Region at University of the Sunshine Coast's Caboolture campus. As a mental health nursing specialist, her clinical experience spans inpatient/community settings and private practice. Educational background includes PhD from University of South Australia, MNurs from Queensland University of Technology, BAppSc-Nursing from QUT, and nursing education diplomas.

Research employs critical ethnography to examine power dynamics in mental healthcare, recovery-oriented practice models, and trauma-informed approaches. Publications critique biomedical paradigms in trauma treatment and analyze risk management impacts on patient rights.

Honors include Fellow status with Australian College of Mental Health Nurses and Best Poster Award at 2018 ACMHN Conference. Teaches mental health nursing with focus on ethical practice frameworks.

As clinical supervision educator, develops reflective practice models for mental health professionals. Coordinates regional clinical programs for nursing students.
