Christine PREVOST is a Lecturer in French Teaching at INSPE Lille Hauts-de-France, part of University of Lille. Her academic focus centers on the intersection of literature, media, and education, with particular expertise in theater and children's literature from the 19th and 20th centuries.
Her research interests include:
- Theater and Children's Literature (19th/20th century)
- Media culture and its relationship with literary heritage
- Teaching of literary reading
- Popular genres on stage and screen
- Interactions between literary heritage and mainstream media
- Media transpositions (cinema, cartoons, television) and their role in disseminating literary heritage
Dr. PREVOST's scholarly work examines how media adaptations have contributed to disseminating literary heritage to the general public, particularly to children and adolescents, and how schools engage with these adaptations. Her research also explores how these transpositions serve as indirect forms of criticism of heritage literature and emerging children's literature. Her publications span a wide range of topics within children's literature, theater, and media studies, with recent works focusing on adaptations of Maupassant, Roald Dahl, Harry Potter, and analysis of Disney's nostalgic representations.
She has coordinated several books and journal issues, including "Paul-Jacques Bonzon, in the shadow of the series, singular works" (2020) and "Filming the class" (2013). Her academic activities extend to conference participation and seminar organization on topics related to children's literature and media adaptations.
Dr. PREVOST holds an Agrégation of Letters (1993) and completed her doctoral thesis on "The Man Without a Name and the King Without a Crown, a study of the early dramas of Alexandre Dumas père (1827-1835)" in 2003 under the direction of Professor Francis Marcoin.
She also coordinates pedagogical teaching of didactics for the Master's degree in secondary education, Letters track, for ULCO (University of the Littoral Côte d'Opale).
