Christine Neal

Christine Neal is a Professor in the Department of Art History at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, GA, with expertise in Russian art, 19th-century art, and war narratives. Her academic credentials include a Ph.D. in art history and archaeology from the University of Missouri, an M.A. in art history from the University of Wisconsin, and a B.A. in art from Bucknell University.

Her research focuses on Russian artistic traditions, national identity in visual culture, and the intersection of art with historical events like the Patriotic War of 1812. She has presented internationally at venues including Sichuan University in China and the College Art Association conferences.

Neal received significant recognition including a Research Sabbatical Award (2017) and multiple Presidential Fellowships from SCAD. She has held visiting professorships at East China Normal University, University of International Business Economics, and Lion International.
