Christine Mady is a Senior University Lecturer in the Department of Architecture at Aalto University. She previously held positions at Notre Dame University - Louaize (NDU), including Associate Professor (2020–2022), Head of the Department of Architecture (2016–2020), and Assistant Professor (2014–2020). She earned a Doctoral degree in Architecture from Cardiff University (2009), a Master's from the University of Stuttgart (2005), and a Bachelor's from the American University of Beirut (1997).
Her research focuses on public spaces, urban resilience, and inclusive urban governance, particularly in conflict-affected regions like Beirut. Notable projects include the PS-U-GO Erasmus program (2023–2026) and the QUORUM interdisciplinary module addressing water-related urban challenges. She coordinates the AESOP Thematic Group on Public Spaces and Urban Cultures.
Key awards include the Werner von Siemens Award (2007) and Urban Studies Foundation International Fellowship (2014). Her work contributes to UN SDGs related to sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11), climate action (SDG 13), and quality education (SDG 4).
