Christine Grogan is an Associate Professor of English at the University of Delaware, affiliated with the College of Arts & Sciences. She serves as Faculty Coordinator for the Dover and Georgetown academic centers and holds a PhD in English alongside a graduate certificate in Women’s Studies. With over 18 years of teaching experience since 2005, her courses span literature, writing, and women’s studies.

Her research focuses on trauma in literature, particularly father-daughter incest and complex PTSD (CPTSD) in 20th-century American literature. She has published a book on this topic with Fairleigh Dickinson University Press and has analyzed works such as Ralph Ellison’s Invisible Man, Azar Nafisi’s Reading Lolita in Tehran, and Dorothy Allison’s Bastard Out of Carolina. Recent projects explore African women writers like Flora Nwapa and Yvonne Vera.
Christine has held leadership roles in academic societies, including President of the Katherine Anne Porter Society and Vice President of Membership and Finances for the Society for the Study of American Women Writers. Her teaching emphasizes first-year writing, approaches to literature, public speaking, and professional communication.
