Dr. Christine Fiestas is an Associate Professor and Associate Program Director in the Master of Science Speech-Language Pathology program at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (Austin, TX campus). She holds a PhD and MS in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Texas at Austin, and a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Vermont. Her expertise lies in bilingual/multilingual speech-language pathology, focusing on assessment and intervention for developmental language disorders (DLD) in English Language Learners (ELLs), transfer of learning across languages, and dynamic assessment techniques.

Dr. Fiestas has received grants for multicultural project initiatives, such as the ASHA award for language assessment norms in Hawai’i Creole English. Her work bridges clinical practice and research, advocating for equitable assessment and intervention strategies for linguistically diverse populations.
