Prof. Christine Eriksen is a Research Professor leading the Geographies of Disasters group at the University of Bern's Institute of Geography. Her work focuses on social dimensions of disasters, wildfire resilience, and climate adaptation. Previously, she held roles at the University of Wollongong (2007–2020) and ETH Zurich (2020–2023). Funded by a Swiss National Science Foundation Consolidator Grant, her current project (FiRES) examines European wildfire resilience.
Education: PhD (details unspecified), with training in Denmark, UK, and Australia. Research spans Australia, North America, Europe, and Africa, emphasizing local environmental knowledge and societal coping capacities.
