Christine Cali is Associate Professor and Department Chair of Theatre Arts & Dance at Sonoma State University, where she co-directs the Dance Program. She teaches contemporary/modern dance technique, choreography, dance history, critical thinking, and foundations courses with emphases on somatics, social justice, and feminist perspectives.
Her research integrates:
- Somatic approaches to contemporary dance
- Equitable practices in collaborative art-making
- Choreography intersecting with live music and performance innovation
As Artistic Director of CALI & CO dance, she produces performances and workshops in San Francisco. Significant awards include multiple SF International Arts Festival commissions and a Dancer's Group CASH GRANT. She holds an MFA from Hollins University/ADF and BFA from Ohio University.
