Christine Bratu is a Professor of Philosophy with a focus on Gender Studies at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, funded by the Maria-Goeppert-Mayer Programme for International Gender Research. Previously, she was an academic researcher at the Faculty of Philosophy, Theory of Science, and Religious Studies at LMU Munich (2006–2020) and held a temporary professorship in feminist philosophy at HU Berlin (2016). Her work bridges analytical feminist philosophy, political philosophy, and practical philosophy.
- Research Focus: Respect and disrespect, hermeneutical injustice, gender justice, quotas, consent in sexuality, metaphysics of gender, liberalism, perfectionism, autonomy, and normative ethics.
- Projects: Co-leads the BMBF project Bildersturm, analyzing visibility measures for women in academic philosophy.
- Awards: Junior Research Fellow at LMU Munich’s Center for Advanced Sciences (2019); Board Member of the Society for Women in Philosophy (SWIP) Germany since 2016.
- Teaching: Focus on gender studies, liberal theory, and ethics. Regularly supervises thesis students like Iris Karakuş.
