Christine Anne Ganzer is an Associate Professor at the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing, Hunter College (CUNY). She earned her PhD in Nursing from the University of Arizona (2009), MS in Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from SUNY Stony Brook (2004), MA in Psychology from New York University (2000), and BS in Nursing from Syracuse University (1987).
Research Interests: Dr. Ganzer focuses on risk reduction strategies to promote healthy cognition during aging. Her work examines the interplay between Type 2 diabetes, amyloidosis (protein clumping in Alzheimer's disease), and cognitive outcomes like memory and executive function. She also investigates how lifestyle factors (diet, physical activity) and vascular risks (hypertension, insulin resistance, elevated cholesterol/homocysteine) influence cognition.
