Christina Zinke

Christina Zinke is a Researcher at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) in the Department of Systems Analysis and Sustainability Assessment, specializing in carbon management strategies for climate neutrality. She holds an M.Sc. in Geosciences from Friedrich Schiller University Jena (2018) and previously worked at the Institute for Energy and Environmental Research Heidelberg (2019–2021).

Her research focuses on life cycle analyses, bioeconomy transitions, biomass utilization, and environmental monitoring. She investigates sustainable carbon management through interdisciplinary approaches integrating bio-based systems and nature-based solutions.

Zinke contributes to projects including VALUE4FARM (sustainable renewable energy chains for farmers), SYMOBIO 2.0 (bioeconomy monitoring), and BRANCHES (rural bioeconomy networks). She collaborates in the CARMA research group, developing assessment frameworks for carbon dioxide removal technologies and biomass sustainability.
