Christina Yoon

Christina Yoon, MD, MPH, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), School of Medicine. Her research is deeply rooted in global health equity, with a focus on improving tuberculosis (TB) and HIV/AIDS care in resource-limited settings such as Uganda, Vietnam, and the Marshall Islands.

Her work centers on diagnostic accuracy, implementation science, and epidemiology, particularly in evaluating point-of-care C-reactive protein (CRP) testing as a triage tool for TB among people living with HIV. She has led multiple NIH-funded clinical trials and international collaborative studies published in top-tier journals including The Lancet, American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, and PLOS One. Her research has significantly influenced TB screening strategies and public health policy.

Dr. Yoon’s recent publications highlight trends in integrated diagnostic algorithms, multi-country validation of screening tools, and implementation of novel TB case-finding strategies. These studies consistently emphasize improving efficiency, accessibility, and accuracy of TB detection in high-burden, low-resource populations.
