Christina Vildinge is an Assistant Researcher and Doctoral Candidate in Design at HDK-Valand School of Design and Crafts, University of Gothenburg. She concurrently serves as Development Manager for Research & Innovation at the Urban Environment Administration, City of Gothenburg. Her work bridges academia and urban practice, focusing on collaborative design processes in complex urban challenges.
Education: Dual background in Design (HDK-Valand) and Management (School of Business, Economics and Law, University of Gothenburg). Teaching: Long-term contributions to HDK’s Master’s Programme Business & Design and Bachelor’s Programme in Design.
Research Focus: Interorganizational collaboration in urban development, particularly light design as a material and organizational challenge. Explores how light mediates social inclusion, climate resilience, and biodiversity through cross-sector partnerships. Uses action research to study light’s role in governance, planning, and public space aesthetics.
Professional Roles: Represents the Urban Environment Administration in innovation platforms and collaborations with Chalmers ACE. Combines academic research with practical design consultancy in architectural practices.
