Christina Signorelli

Christina Signorelli is a Senior Research Fellow in the Discipline of Paediatrics at UNSW Medicine & Health, School of Clinical Medicine. Her research focuses on the physical and psychosocial impacts of childhood and adolescent cancers, emphasizing survivorship care and digital health interventions. She holds a PhD in Medicine (Paediatrics) from UNSW Sydney, a Master of Qualitative Health Research from the University of Sydney, and a combined Bachelor of Science (Psychology) and Arts (Sociology).

• Grants: Includes MRFF-funded projects on equitable cancer survivorship care, digital health programs for childhood cancer survivors, and psychosocial intervention studies.
• Education: PhD in Medicine (2015-2018), MSc in Qualitative Health Research (2013), and dual BSc/BArts (2009-2012).

Her research interests center on improving quality of life for cancer survivors through evidence-based interventions, telehealth solutions, and chronic disease management. She has pioneered programs like 'Engage' and 'Re-engage' to re-engage survivors with care and enhance self-efficacy in physical activity.

Notable awards include the COSA Phyllis Butow New Investigator Award (2023) and the MASIC Young Investigator Award (2017). Her work is supported by grants from MRFF, Cancer Australia, and the Kids’ Cancer Project.

Professionally, she chairs the IPOS Survivorship Special Interest Group and contributes to committees like the ANZCHOG Survivorship Subcommittee. Her research supervision spans HDR candidates and interdisciplinary students in Medicine, Psychology, and related fields.
