Christina Saville

Christina Saville is a Lecturer in Healthcare Management and Leadership at the University of Southampton's School of Health Sciences, where she conducts research within the Health Workforce and Systems group. Her work focuses on applying operational research techniques to healthcare staffing challenges, primarily funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).

Her research interests center on safe staffing methodologies, operational research applications in healthcare, and health workforce optimization. She employs quantitative methods including multi-level regression and simulation modeling to analyze nurse staffing configurations, workload prediction from electronic health records, and cost-effectiveness of staffing interventions. Current projects include PREDICT-NURSE (feasibility and extension studies) and SEISMIC 2, with active collaboration with NHS Improvement to develop evidence-based staffing frameworks.

Dr. Saville's publications demonstrate consistent contributions to healthcare management literature, particularly in nurse staffing outcomes, economic evaluations, and predictive modeling. Her research shows increasing influence in shaping national staffing guidance through frameworks like the Professional Judgement Framework.
