معرفی
Christina Richards is an Associate Professor in the Department of Integrative Biology at the University of South Florida, College of Arts and Sciences. She specializes in Ecology & Evolution, Conservation & Disease, and Marine Biology, with a focus on ecological genomics, phenotypic plasticity, and invasive species dynamics.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Biology, University of Georgia, 2004
- B.A. in Biology, Swarthmore College, 1995
Research: The Richards Lab investigates how organisms respond to environmental challenges using genomic and epigenetic approaches. Current projects include studying the genomics of invasive plants like Japanese knotweed and Spartina alterniflora, and exploring plant-microbe interactions. Collaborations span Australia, Europe, China, and the U.S., supported by grants from the Australian Research Council, Fulbright, and German initiatives.
Teaching: She teaches Evolution and Biology of Coastal Plants, emphasizing rapid evolutionary changes and climate adaptation.
Advising & Grants:
- Labs supported by ARC, Fulbright, and German Research programs
- Research on invasive species and climate adaptation
Labs & Teams: The Richards Lab focuses on ecological genomics, epigenetics, and conservation biology, with international fieldwork and lab-based studies.
