Christina Poth

Christina Poth serves as Professor of Typography at the Unit Design Department of University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, where she also holds the position of Equal Opportunities Commissioner. Her academic profile bridges theoretical research with professional design practice through her studio partnerships.

Her educational foundation includes:

• Post-Diplom in Type Design from École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris (2010-2013)
• Diploma in Communication Design from Hochschule Rhein-Main, Wiesbaden (2008)

Professor Poth's research examines typography's societal impact through five interconnected lenses: public space typographic systems, inclusive design methodologies, wayfinding solution development, text readability optimization, and typography's role in literacy acquisition. Her work consistently addresses accessibility challenges for diverse user groups while maintaining typographic integrity.

She co-founded Atelier Valmy (Paris-Berlin) in 2014, specializing in typographic consultancy and typeface development, and previously established Studio Mobile Amiens (2017-2019) – a student-run agency that created Amiens Métropole's comprehensive information system. Her industry experience includes partnership at Intégral Ruedi Baur (2008-2013), where she developed orientation systems for major public institutions.
