Christina Mavrogianni is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Harokopio University. She joined the Laboratory Teaching Staff in November 2023. Her research focuses on obesity-related risk factors, lifestyle intervention programs, and digital health technologies in preventing chronic diseases, particularly in children and adults. She holds a PhD in Nutrition Science (2020) from Harokopio University, a MSc in Clinical Nutrition (2011), and a BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics (2009).
Her research interests include school/community-based interventions, dietary patterns and chronic disease relationships, perinatal obesity risk factors, and infant nutrition. Key publications include studies on parental diabetes risk predicting offspring obesity, food parenting practices in child nutrition, and vitamin D supplementation effects in postmenopausal women.
Recent work explores digital health interventions for diabetes screening (DigiCare4You), policy frameworks for childhood obesity, and metabolic syndrome risk associated with beverage consumption. Her articles highlight interdisciplinary approaches to public health challenges, emphasizing family dynamics and socioeconomic factors.
