Christina Denslinger

Christina Denslinger, PhD, is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She is also the Program Director at the Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Epidemiology Center, where she focuses on addressing health disparities among American Indian/Alaska Native communities through culturally grounded approaches.

Dr. Denslinger’s research emphasizes substance use prevention, suicide prevention, and indigenous approaches to data governance. She specializes in integrating evidence-based strategies with cultural best practices to reduce health inequalities in Tribal communities.

Her work includes the Saving Lives Project, which funds initiatives to combat opioid use and improve tribal data systems. She collaborates extensively with Tribal and Urban Indian communities on public health needs like health education materials, survey design, and program evaluation.
