Dr. Christina Demski is a Reader in Psychology at the University of Bath and Deputy Director of the ESRC-funded Centre for Climate Change and Social Transformations (CAST). She leads Theme 1 of CAST, focusing on visions of low-carbon futures. Her research examines public perception, communication, and engagement with socio-technical challenges like climate change and energy transitions. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Psychology from Cardiff University (2011) and a Postgraduate Certificate in University Teaching & Learning (2014).

Key projects include participatory research in underserved communities, the CAST phase 2 project, and the Ocean-REFuel initiative on renewable energy fuels. Her research emphasizes early public engagement in climate policy and the role of citizen assemblies.
Recent articles highlight extreme heat adaptation, clean cooling pathways, and the psychological impacts of flood experiences. She also explores innovative methods like large language models for qualitative analysis. Grants include funding from UK Research and Innovation, the Economic and Social Research Council, and the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
She collaborates with institutions like the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research and the UK Energy Research Centre, advancing interdisciplinary climate and energy research.
