Christina Baik

Christina Baik, M.D., M.P.H. is an Associate Professor in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Washington School of Medicine and an Associate Professor in the Clinical Research Division at Fred Hutch Cancer Center. She serves as Clinical Research Director for Thoracic and Head and Neck Oncology at UW Medicine and practices at Fred Hutch Cancer Center locations in South Lake Union and UW Medical Center – Montlake.

Dr. Baik received her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine, completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Brown University Medical School, and pursued fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology at Tufts Medical Center. She furthered her research training with a post-doctoral fellowship at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and earned a Master of Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health.

Her research focuses on developing targeted therapeutics for oncogene-driven lung cancer, with particular interest in understanding mechanisms of primary and secondary resistance to immunotherapy. Dr. Baik leads multiple clinical trials evaluating the efficacy of small molecular inhibitors in lung cancer treatment. Her publication record shows consistent research output spanning from 2010 to 2025, with recent work emphasizing novel therapeutic approaches for EGFR-mutant and other molecularly defined lung cancers.

Dr. Baik's clinical expertise centers on thoracic oncology, particularly lung cancer treatment. She treats patients with thoracic and head and neck malignancies at the UW/Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and is actively involved in educating medical students, residents, and fellows.
