Christie Manasco

Christie Manasco is an Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Nursing, where she has served since 2020. Her work focuses on integrating nursing education with health equity initiatives, particularly for rural and underserved populations.

Dr. Manasco specializes in simulation-based learning and pre-briefing methodologies to enhance nursing education. Her research emphasizes reducing healthcare disparities through innovative training programs, including grant-funded projects like TEACH US (Training and Education to Advance Critical Health Equity Readiness Using Simulation) and a rural underserved micro-credentialing program for undergraduate students.

Scientific Awards:

• Recipient of The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing Faculty (2014, 2022)
• Tennessee Nurses Association Nursing Excellence Award (2023)

Dr. Manasco has presented nationally on simulation in healthcare education and currently practices as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) for West Tennessee Healthcare. She also serves as Director of Education for the Tennessee Nurses Association.
