Christiane Berth

Christiane Berth is a full Professor of Contemporary History at the University of Graz, affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities and the Institute of History. She serves as the Director of the Institute of History (2023-2025) and contributes to academic governance through roles in curriculum committees and scientific advisory boards.

Recent publications examine micronutrient interventions, gendered telecommunications in Mexico, and revolutionary food systems in Nicaragua. Her work appears in prestigious venues like the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Food Studies and Technology and Culture.

Christiane leads editorial roles at the Jahrbuch für Geschichte Lateinamerikas and Österreichische Zeitschrift für Geschichtswissenschaften, while serving on advisory boards for Latin American research networks and the Afro-Asian Institute in Graz.
