Christian Violy is a professional lecturer affiliated with the Department of French Studies, Languages and Literatures at the University of Saint-Boniface. He teaches courses in French grammar, academic writing, and language laboratory instruction, emphasizing creative approaches to language pedagogy.
His research and creation focus on French literature, literary creation, and French pedagogy. His publications include poetry collections and analyses of Franco-Canadian literature, with a particular interest in poetic imagery and structure.
Scientific awards include being a finalist for the 2008 Lansdowne Poetry Prize and winning the Grand Prix des Saisons littéraires – Guérin publisher (essay, 1996). His recent poetic works have been featured in regional anthologies and literary journals.
In community service, Violy serves as a representative of the FAFS in the USB Senate, vice-president of Éditions du Blé, and advisor to Cinémental. He also participates in public literary events, workshops, and media engagements to promote French language and culture.
