- PhD in Economics, University of Copenhagen
Hoeck's research centers on labor market tightness effects on wages, firm productivity impacts on tenure returns, and micro-foundations of price setting. He leverages Danish administrative data to analyze how heterogeneous firm behaviors generate wage dispersion and influence macroeconomic outcomes like the Phillips curve. His methodology integrates structural modeling with granular firm-level evidence to uncover causal mechanisms in labor and product markets.
Hoeck received doctoral funding from Danmarks Nationalbank and conducted Spring 2023 research at UC Berkeley under Professor Benjamin Schoefer. His current work examines labor market tightness effects using novel firm-specific vacancy-unemployment measures, extending canonical search-and-matching frameworks.
