Christian Osadnik is a Professor and Head of Department of Physiotherapy at Monash University, and an honorary Fellow at Monash Health. His research focuses on optimizing health outcomes for chronic lung disease patients through personalized medicine and rehabilitation. He has over 90 peer-reviewed publications, >$5.4M in competitive grants, and leads the ResPIRE laboratory supporting early-career researchers.
Research interests include COPD management (particularly acute exacerbations), frailty, pulmonary rehabilitation, physical activity, and health services research. He actively advises on national and international committees, including the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare and the European Respiratory Society.
Recent work emphasizes frailty assessment in chronic lung disease, malnutrition screening in aged care, and global outcomes of COPD exacerbations. His studies integrate clinical practice with translational research to improve patient care pathways.
Awards include an honorary fellowship, and grants from MRFF, European Respiratory Society, and Lung Foundation Australia. He supervises PhD research in respiratory rehabilitation and acute care strategies, with a focus on technology-enabled interventions and functional maintenance programs.
