Christian Mileta is a Professor of Ancient History at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and Principal Faculty of the IMPRS ANARCHIE. His research focuses on the social and economic history of the Ancient world, particularly the Hellenistic period, including state formation, slavery, and colonial dynamics in the Eastern Mediterranean. He holds a PhD (1987) and Habilitation (2006) from the Academy of Sciences and Halle-Wittenberg, respectively.
